Number 1
He did it. Mr. Federer took the year number 1 ranking and with it became only the second player in history to lose and then eventually regain the year end number one ranking. After beating Andy Murray, it guaranteed that there was no possible way for Nadal to achieve more ranking points by the end of the tournament.
- Spent a record 237 consecutive weeks at number 1
- On a streak of 21 consecutive weeks currently
- Will likely finish the year with over $7 million just in prize money….

Nadal
Yep, it’s true. Rafael Nadal made history today as he lost in 4 sets to an inspired Robin Soderling. Soderling went for broke on every shot and played an extremely high-risk brand of tennis which in the end payed massive dividends. Nadal just couldn’t string enough great shots together and found himself down 1-6 in the 4th set tiebreaker.
It’s just a pity that Soderling payed Nadal no respect at the end of the match, even shaking the umpires hand first….
I wont bother putting up a picture of Soderling. He isn’t worth it.
