Merry Christmas
Thursday, December 24th, 2009The best christmas ad’s! Whats your favorite?
Sunday, December 20th, 2009There’s loads of ad’s that just remind us of Christmas or bring back all the childhood memories of it when we were young and relatively innocent. Here’s some of my all time favorites!
The Toys r’ Us ad! This is a remastered version brought out this year of that amazing ad.
The classic
Always liked this one.
And finally the An Post Christmas ad with the clip from The Snowman with the song Walking in the air! Cant find it on youtube though
London town!
Wednesday, November 18th, 2009Ahhhh, had a great weekend in London with Jason on the big adventure to visit Sarah! At one stage I thought I would never get there. Anything that could possibly go wrong was seeming to happen…..
- HORRIBLE landing in Gatwick, actually thought I was going to die
- Train from the airport broke down for ages and we had to get onto another
- The tube station we needed to change at was closed and we didn’t find out until we were already on it
- Some fool pulled the alarm at one of the stations and all the tubes were stopped
- Acton – enough said
But I did finally get to Leicester square and meet Sarah I did.
Happy Easter!

mmmmmmm mini eggs!
Ok so not a huge holiday for most, but at least we all get to eat lots of chocolate and have a nice dinner
!
Hope to see you all at mass :p
Have a great day
Not so good Friday
Thursday, April 9th, 2009Apparently the most important date for christians in the biblical calendar, hmmmmm.
Its a day most christians dont take seriously at all and it seems more of an annoyance now than anything else.
- Alcohol cannot be sold
- All banks and public institutions are closed
- All pubs and most resteraunts close for the day
And its not even an official holiday!
Not everyone is Christian…..
I think there needs to be some serious thought put into these out-dated laws.
If any christians here took it seriously, there would be no need to forbid the sale of alcohol as they would just refrain for the day anyway!!
Dont worry though, Hot-cross buns are eaten in many countries on good Friday. mmmmm…….
Hot cross buns
Happy fools day!
Wednesday, April 1st, 2009Yup, its that time of year again. Everyone’s favourite holiday and when local newspapers all over the country try to make their own April Fools joke by circulating some fake news article.
Google is one of the most famous online companies for hoaxing on April 1st every year. And what amazes me the most is that a hoax is always expected from them, yet millions of people still believe them anyway like!
For example, this years hoax is dubbed gBall
Google have announced that they are developing a prototype ball for use in the Australian Football League with GPS. The ball will measure the location, force, and torque of a kick. It will cost $10 with a cost-per-kick set of payments in addition to the basic fee.
Pretty elaborate, yeh?!
Some other weird ones over the years
- The BBC ran a program about Spaghetti Trees way back in the 50’s. They basically claimed spagetti could be grown from trees. Fools actually believed them!
- Smell-o-vision was all the talk in 1965 when the BBC claimed they were testing a new technology, and that views could smell coffee and onions over the airwaves. A number of viewers called in to confirm that they distinctly experienced these smells……….
- A UK radio presenter called Nelson Mandela, pretending to be Tony Blair, for a chat. The line went dead when he asked Nelson what he was doing for April fools day!! (Nelson = Going mad)
