Olive Branch stand-off ends; dramatic rescue caught on tape ...

One man is in custody after barricading himself in an Olive Branch grocery store overnight.

Officials said the standoff began late Sunday after a robbery attempt at the Gordin's Food and Butcher Shop on Highway 305 in Olive Branch.  When the suspect, armed with a gun, attempted to rob the grocery store, two male employees tried to fight him while a female employee hid in a freezer.  Other employees ran out the front door.

Officials said the male employees got away, while the female in the freezer called police. SWAT Team members rescued her from the freezer after she said she was too cold to remain inside.  (watch dramatic footage of the rescue on this page).

After a standoff that lasted more than four hours, police moved in on the suspect, finding him barricaded in a bathroom, suffering from a gunshot wound.  Officials said it was unclear if the wound was self-inflicted, or if he was shot by officers.

Police officials said they were pleased no victims were harmed by the suspect.  "Everybody got out safely," said Scott Gentry of the Olive Branch Police Department.  "That was our biggest issue."

The suspect, who has not been identified, was transported to The MED where he is expected to recover.  Charges against the man have not yet been filed.

A stretch of Highway 305 was closed for several hours during the standoff.
