DOES THE NEW 'WHITE HOUSE RURAL COUNCIL' = UN's AGENDA 21?

President Obama’s E.O. 13575 is designed to begin taking control over almost all aspects of the lives of 16% of the American people. Why didn’t we notice it? Weinergate. In the middle of the Anthony Weiner scandal, as the press and most of the American people were distracted, President Obama created something called “The White House Rural Council” (WHRC). Section 1. Policy. Sixteen percent of the American population lives in rural counties. Strong, sustainable rural communities are essential to winning the future and ensuring American competitiveness in the years ahead. These communities supply our food, fiber, and energy, safeguard our natural resources, and are essential in the development of science and innovation. Though rural communities face numerous challenges, they also present enormous economic potential. The Federal Government has an important role to play in order to expand access to the capital necessary for economic growth, promote innovation, improve access to health care and education, and expand outdoor recreational activities on public lands. The new White House Rural Council will probably be populated by experts in the various fields that might prove helpful to the folks who live and work outside of large urban areas, right? Well, Tom Vilsack, the current Secretary of Agriculture, will chair the group, but let us review the list of members appointed to serve on this new council – according to the order, the heads of the following groups have been appointed: (a) make recommendations to the President, through the Director of the Domestic Policy Council and the Director of the National Economic Council, on streamlining and leveraging Federal investments in rural areas, where appropriate, to increase the impact of Federal dollars and create economic opportunities to improve the quality of life in rural America; The vague language here sounds non-threatening. But, is there a hint here that a “rural stimulus plan” might be in the making? Will the Federal government start pumping money into farmlands under the guise of creating “economic opportunities to improve the quality of life in rural America?” It is difficult to discern as the language is so broad.

New Slim PS3 Model Will Features PS2 Backward Compatibility ...

Surprise, surprise, after my report earlier on the brand new CECH-3000 model, i missed some bits of interesting piece on Sony’s Japan official website. Recently, a report has discovered an added PS2 compatibility feature on the translated page of the new PS3 slim console. Specifically it says in the notes at the bottom of the CECH-3000B model page that:

“This product, “PlayStation 2″ are having a compatibility with proprietary software.”

It could just be a bad mistranslation from Google, or it may be Sony bringing back backwards compatibility now that their team of engineers know how to do it in software for PS3. .

PS2 compatibility came as standard on the original PS3 due to the inclusion of the Emotion Engine chip. But with the revamped design on the new models, that chip was removed and with it, the PS2 video games compatibility gone.

Bringing back PS2 compatibility would be a great move for Sony. Their PR kind of, heading towards the bottom lately due to their breached PSN security, and they had already disappoint a lot of hardcore gamers as well as their long time users by removing the ability to play PS2 games from the PS3. Giving it a new life again on PS3 would be another feature Sony could promote with, and those still in love with their library of PS2 games might decide to sell their current PS3 console and get this new one instead.

We can expect for some announcements as Sony will confirm whether or not PS2 compatibility is included with the system later on as more mainstream news sites start asking about it. My gut feeling is this feature is indeed what we’re be looking forward to in the future, and I’m hoping it stays as it is.

UPDATE : soulbicycle, a Japanese PS3 user has confirmed that the correct translation is “This product, “PlayStation 2″ are having a compatibility “without” proprietary software.” So yeah, we won’t see a PS2 backward compatibility after all.
