New Orleans-Style Coffee & Cream Pops
1-1/4 cups dark strong coffee and chicory
2 tablespoons sugar
1 pint premium vanilla ice cream
While coffee is still hot, pour into a large glass measuring cup. Stir in sugar and refrigerate until cold.
Use a spoon to fill the ice pop molds loosely with small chunks of ice cream. Work quickly so ice cream doesn't melt. You want streaks and chunks of ice cream rather than for everything to blend together. Avoid packing molds too tightly; coffee will fill in the space around ice cream.
Carefully pour cold coffee into a corner of each mold, filling it to the top. Depending on how tightly you fill the molds with ice cream, you'll probably use about 1 cup of coffee and almost all the ice cream. Insert sticks. Freeze until firm, at least 6 hours or up to 1 week.

Coffee is no longer just a morning beverage: It has its own afternoon Happy Hour! The Copeland Family of Restaurants and PJ’s Coffee of New Orleans – the Coffee New Orleans Loves™ – have formed a partnership to carry PJ’s coffee, New Orleans Roast Coffee, and New Orleans Brew Tea within the restaurants.
20 Copeland’s of New Orleans locations are serving New Orleans Roast by PJ’s and New Orleans Brew Tea. There are also five Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro locations that serve PJ’s Coffee and New Orleans Brew Tea.
To kick off the partnership, participating locations of Copeland’s of New Orleans and Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro will host a Cheesecake & Coffee Happy Hour everyday from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. The Happy Hour will include a free cup of PJ’s Coffee (Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro) or New Orleans Roast (Copeland’s of New Orleans) with the purchase of any slice of signature cheesecake with a buttery pecan crust. Not only will the guests have the opportunity to enjoy our new coffee while dining at a participating location, they can have it made TO-GO as well.
In addition to having PJ’s Coffee and New Orleans Roast Coffee within the restaurant, participating locations of Copeland’s of New Orleans and Copeland’s Cheesecake Bistro will be selling one pound bags of ground coffee for guests to enjoy in the comfort of their own home. Also, 5% of each bag sold will be donated to the Al Copeland Foundation (ACF).
