Pub-owner fined for 19 food hygiene offences

The owner of a pub in Cadnam was fined £ 9500 for a series of food hygiene.

Ghesmati Nassir, 52, pleaded guilty to 19 breaches of food hygiene and food safety at Southampton Magistrates Court on Wednesday of last week.

The offenses include food which was unfit for human consumption, the Fox and Hounds in Lyndhurst and the Coach and Horses Cadnam.

The judges considered this a serious case because of the nature and number of tickets Food Hygiene, health history and previous poor "flagrant abuse of public trust" represented by the defendant but felt that a prison sentence was not appropriate. Instead, Mr. Ghesmati was fined £ 9,500 and ordered to pay full prosecution costs of £ 2162.

There was also a failure to maintain a system for managing food safety.

Officers revisited the pub on April 12 and again found that a management system of food safety was not actively maintained. In April this year, environmental health officers also conducted a routine inspection of food hygiene in the Coach and Horses, where a variety of foods were found to be unfit for human consumption, some in a serious state of disrepair .

Other foods were found to be past its use marked a day.

A cloth used to clean the floor was found on a food preparation table to reach a cutting board used to prepare food.

Police close road after crash (From Daily Echo)

A MOTORCYCLIST was taken to Southampton General Hospital this evening after he was in collision with a car on a busy Hampshire road.

The accident happened in Southampton Road, Cadnam, between the Coach and Horses pub and Cadnam Nurseries, at 4.30pm.

The male motorcyclist suffered a back injury and fractured right leg. The woman car driver suffered whiplash and was treated at the scene.

Police closed off the road while they carried out an investigation.

An emergency doctor and two South Central ambulance crews also attended.
