* Fred Barrett of Allyn has joined Harrison Medical Center's board of directors. Barrett is an entrepreneur who founded Allyn Technology Group, Inc. Before that, Barrett cofounded RFTrax, Inc., and AscentIQ, Inc. He is an active Rotarian and serves as board president for both the Pacific Northwest Salmon Center and the North Mason Education Foundation.

* Joseph Riley of Bainbridge Island has joined Sound Community Bank as a senior commercial lending officer, where he will be responsible for managing commercial lending relationships in the King, Pierce and Kitsap County regions. He will split his time between the Tacoma branch at 2941 S 38th St. and the Seattle office at 2001 Fifth Ave.

* Two local automotive repair shops have earned a AAA Top Shop award, given for the quality of their work, courtesy of employees and cleanliness of their shop. The awards were given to B&B Auto Repair and L & R Automotive, both of Bremerton, after an evaluation by AAA Washington.
