First time I spot a tick on my cat. Quite surprised to find it in urban Amsterdam. I removed it the wrong way (supposedly), so I'll have to watch my cat to see whether she doesn't get infected. For future reference. Don't use alcohol and twist the tick off with a ticktong. 14% of ticks are infected with Borrelia burgdrorferi , that can cause Lyme's disease. As you can see on this photo this tick has lost it's head. It's left in my cat after an improper extraction.
The bugger continued to move for half an hour after extraction (head removal…).
